Omniafibre s.r.l. has taken over the activities of Omniafiltra Cartiera del Torano S.p.A. since March 2010.

The new company, which was renewed in the property with the takeover of the member SERI S.p.A, a company operating in the field of plastics and industrial installations, guarantees a better and more efficient management of our industrial/commercial relations, in compliance with all of the best Omniafiltra professionals, but with a radical reorganization.

Omniafiltra, established in 1955, is a company that operates in the market of papers for industrial use. At the in the early seventies, thanks to the recognized quality of its products, conquers the leadership in the ambit of the national market, guaranteeing afterwards, a progressive growth in the international market. The company operates in a highly segmented field, developing a range of high quality products. The several years of experience in the field, allowed the company to establish itself in different high technological branches essentially represented by the following business areas:

Paper for impregnation for the industries of insecticides and deodorant, capable of high absorption of the active ingredient, excellent resistance to high temperatures and excellent behaviour in die-cutting;

Paper, paperboards and filter sheets, with a complete range of formulations and sizes, capable to satisfy all needs of food, enological, pharmaceutical and chemical industries;

Gaskets for automotive field and for other industrial fields;

Base paper for impregnation with animal gelatine for production of gaskets in the automotive field.

The continued expansion in domestic and overseas markets, have determined an increase of production capacity, bringing to an international leading position of manufacturing of technical papers for industrial use, with a primary customers.

The company has developed a marketing strategy directed towards the foreign market, but has also established a position of national prominence, thanks to relationships with major customers in various sectors such as paper for impregnation and dry base paper, expanding specific markets in which Omniafiltra is already long-established.

The fields in which the company is oriented automotive, industrial, food and chemical.

The consolidated action of internationalization of sales, has made it possible to develop markets in the five continents.


The etymology of " omnia ", which means " all" .and fibre – underlines the characteristics of the company.

The founders' intent was to take advantage of the organoleptic characteristics and particular pureness of the rich springs of the nearby Monte Matese, in order to produce calibrated ash filter papers and, subsequently

widen the range of applications to the growing needs of the filtration.

At the same time, the management of that period formed a skilled team of internationally skilled employees. The highly motivated team worked to optimize the potentiality of the existing installations taking advantage of the various business opportunities aimed at integrating in prestigious sectors of the domestic market. The limited width and production capacity of the first paper machine (which is usually a handicap in the paper industry) drove the company away from commodity products towards specialty applications where technological skill and production flexibility were strategic advantages.

In over 60 years of activity, the know - how of the factory has gradually been specialized in the production of paper and paperboards for technical applications, reaching a rare versatility in the use of organic and non -organic fibres. The presence of various specialities in the market cover the whole national and international territory.

In a short time the production has been accredited among the most technologically advanced in Europe, with brands such as:

Raffaello: drawing pads and sketchbooks (a well-known brand in the paper industry, later on sold to the Cartiere Pigna),

Guamotor: gasket papers among the first gasket materials made in Italy and specified by FIAT.

Depural: the first non-asbestos filter sheet in the world

TSA EK: first material for cylinder head gaskets for OES produced in the world

Torflex and Torbas: material for soft gaskets, also for application OEM, without asbestos

Piastrine 15P and Deo: cardboard for absorption of unmatched structural homogeneity characteristics.

In the early sixties Omniafiltra created its' first material for gaskets: Guamotor (material impregnated with gelatine and glycol). In the seventies the range grew with the development of Torflex. In the same period they obtained the first OEM approvals in the automotive field, a requirement necessary, at that time, in order to seal the quality of the product and therefore commercialize to gasket producers.

When in the 70's, the need for replacement of asbestos fibers in Italy was imposed on products used in various food processing, Omniafiltra was one of the leading world producers of filtering cardboards to replace asbestos with synthetic fibers suitable for the filtration of liquid food products. Such experience, adequate to the different needs in the gasket field, allowed the company to apply its' historical vocation to develop innovative products, producing the first materials without asbestos, and obtained the relative OEM approvals, already in the nineties.

This success, achieved when so many other European producers (historically producing paperboards with asbestos) failed, consolidated the image of the technical capabilities of the paper mill and it allowed the quick affirmation with brands such as Torbas and TSA. The gradual perfection of know-how, constantly improving the production process of the "beater addition", led to the recent creation of the family Toranit, innovative range of products "solvent free" in order to replace some applications traditionally served by industrial joint ("IT Sheet "). At the same time, already in the seventies, the company had produced one of the first cardboards for impregnation of insecticide in Europe. Since then it has gradually consolidated in that field, particularly for the quality.

The flexibility of the implants has allowed to valorize the particular creation of a round item, guaranteeing a product with homogeneous surface on both sides; a more homogeneous distribution of fiber in the internal structure of the paperboard, consenting a better absorption of the liquid and a more controlled releasing of it; a considerable bulk (low density) of the product favors the absorbing capacity and the competitiveness of the product ( lower cost per sqm).

During the years new products have been developed in order to satisfy the various requests of the customers for the most different industrial applications, even with higher weight ( as per our item called 15V MAX almost 6mm of thickness and 1.550 gr/m2).

In 2003 they started and industrial synergy with the "twin" factory in Beaver Falls (Lewis Mill) in New York City.

Omniafibre group, stands today as a company that, while maintaining its philosophy based on the ductility and service to the customer is able to understand and adapt to the needs of an industrial market globally in increase, breaking down the boundaries of the technology of technical papers for industrial use.

Omniafibre products were soon established among the most technologically advanced in Europe.

In the early Seventies, the commercial success of the company's intentional diversification allowed investment in new machinery. Omniafibre tripled its production capacity and further expanded its market share, continuing its growth even through several periods of weak international economic conditions
